We witness a miracle every time a child enters into life. But those who make their journey home across time and miles, growing within the hearts of those who wait to love them, are carried on the wings of destiny and placed among us by GOD's own hands.-Kristi Larson

Adopting a child won't change the world, but for that child the world will change!

Reglion that God our father accepts as pure and fautless is this, to look after orphans and widows in their distress and keep oneself from being polluted by the world. James 1:21

Defining Adoption

Russell Moore's book "Adopted for Life" is one of the best Christian adoption books I have read. Russell reminds us that: Adoption is in the past and doesn't define Shiloh's present or future. Shiloh was adopted, she is in a family. Shiloh was abandoned, she is wanted. Shiloh was alone, she is loved. Shiloh was an orphan, she is my real daughter just like my other daughter, Dakota, who is her real sister. Adoption is a past-tense word and remains in the past.

Kisses In The Wind (The Waiting Child's Lullabye)

I hold you in my heart and touch you in my dreams,
You are here each day with me, at least that is how it seems.
I know you wonder where we are...what is taking us so long,
But remember child I love you so and God will keep you strong.
Now go outside and feel the breeze and let it touch your skin,
Because tonight, just as always, I blow you kisses in the wind.
May God hold you in his hands until I can be with you,
I promise you my darling, I am doing all I can do.
Very soon, you will have a family for real, not just pretend,
But for tonight, just as always, I blow you kisses in the wind.
May God wrap you in his arms and hold you very tight,
And let the angels bring the kisses I blow to you each night.
-P. Durkota

The Legacy Of An Adopted Child

Once there were two women who never knew each other,
One you do not remember, the other you call mother.
Two different lives shaped to make you one;
One became your guiding star, and one became your sun.
The first one gave you life and the second taught you to live it
The first gave you a need for love, and the other was there to give it.
One gave you a nationality, the other gave you a name,
One gave you a talent, the other gave you aim.
One gave you emotions, the other one calmed your fears,
One saw your first sweet smile, the other dried your tears.
One made an adoption plan, that is all that she could do,
The other prayed for a child and God led her straight to you.
Now which of the two women are you a product of?
Both, my darling, both, just two different types of love.

Merry Christmas (THIRD DAY)

There’s a little girl trembling on a cold December morn
Crying for Mama’s arms
At an orphanage just outside a little china town
Where the forgotten are
But half a world away I hang the stockings by the fire
And dream about the day when I can finally call you mine
It’s Christmas time again but you’re not home
Your family is here and yet you are somewhere else alone
So tonight I pray that God will come and hold you in his arms
I tell you from my heart I wish you Merry Christmas
As I hang the tinsel on the tree and watch the twinkling lights
I am warmed by the fires glow
Outside the children tumble in a wonderland of white
Make angels in the snow
But half a world away you try your best to fight the tears
And hope that heavens angels come to carry you here
It’s Christmas time again but you’re not home
Your family is here and yet you are somewhere else alone
So tonight I pray that God will come and hold you in his arms
I tell you from my heart I wish you Merry Christmas
Christmas is a time to celebrate the holy child
And we celebrate his perfect gift of love
He came to us to give his life
And prepare a place for us
So we can have a home with him above
It’s Christmas time again and now you are home
Your family is here so you will never be alone
So tonight before you go to sleep I hold you in my arms
I tell you from my heart I wish you Merry Christmas

I prayed for this child, and the LORD has granted me what I asked of him. 1 Samuel 1:27

Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bring your children from the east and gather you from the west. I will say to the north "give them up!" and to the south "don't hold them back", bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth. Isaiah 43:5-6
